RESLEEVINGMototricks cylinder sleeving includes: removing carbon and glass beading cylinder, boring cylinder to accept sleeve, decking top of cylinder after sleeve is installed, champhering and matching all ports, boring and honing cylinder to fit new piston, and cleaning and inspecting power valve systems before reinstalling. Why sleeve rather than replate: Let's just say that plating is fine, if you have money to throw away every time you have a lean condition or a connecting rod come apart, or a piston ring seize and score through your plated cylinder leaving you back where you started. If you race you can't afford to have your bike down for 2 weeks every time the cylinder gets damaged, and if you're like most people you ride for a good time and don't have endless pockets of money. Here are a couple of reasons why you should sleeve: If something happens to the cylinder all it will cost is to rebore to the next over size piston and this can be done anywhere from 4 to 8 sizes.
